# Optimizing High Polygons

{% hint style="info" %}
This guide is written based on Zbrush.

### Optimizing topology mesh

Before exporting the completed high-polygon mesh, if there are too many polygons, the file can be heavy to work with topology (varies depending on computer specifications).&#x20;

In such cases, it's good to reduce the **Decimation** or **Dividing** before exporting.

<figure><img src="/files/9GXevnpMsvj9eWw5Fg4s" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

For this clothing, it can be seen that there are about 2 million polygons (approximately 4 million based on Tri).&#x20;

If the subdivide level is still active, you can lower the level and export, or if it's not, you can optimize with Decimation before exporting.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Polygon count is defined by Tri. \
For example, Poly: 2000 = Tri: 4000.
{% endhint %}

## Export by lowering Subdivision Level

For this clothing, the subdivide level goes up to 3, and you lower it to 1 and export after deleting the higher levels.

{% hint style="info" %}
If the subdivision levels are well divided, it's convenient to use as a low-polygon mesh.
{% endhint %}

## Export with Decimation

1. Z plugin
2. Select Preprocessing
3. Choose the optimization ratio in Decimate.

1. Results of proceeding with the Decimation value set to 20% (default setting).

You can maintain the silhouette while getting an optimized high-polygon.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.altava.com/creator-guide/3d-modeling/low-polygons/optimizing-high-polygons.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
